Smashin’ for Compassion

No, it’s all about fundraising when you can! People can sponsor you or your team whenever you play pickleball. Whether you play in a league, play casual matches, or have your own tournament coming up, you collect pledges for every game you play on your own time. Register and get started! Please no soft serves, Dairy Queen!

We wanted to try something different, and since pickleball is a fun, competitive, and accessible sport for people of all ages, why not? Cancer sucks, so we are hitting back. Hard. With a paddle.

Sorrentino’s Compassion House provides safe, comfortable and affordable accommodations for women traveling to Edmonton during their treatments, appointments, and cancer journey . We deliver much needed programs and services post-treatment, and create a space where women face challenges together. All funds from Smashin’ for Compassion go to support Sorrentino’s Compassion House.

Fundraising

Register yourself or a team to get started, then hit the court and collect donations for Compassion House. Set a goal for the number of games you want to play and how much money you want to raise. Tell your friends, family, coworkers, and your pickleball opponents (frenemies?) about your goals and why you are supporting Compassion House. Every match and every dollar raised counts.

You can help us hit back against cancer by donating directly to Compassion House through our website. You can also sponsor a player or team participating in Smashin’ for Compassion.

It’s great to set a goal! We recommend a goal of $500 for individuals and $1000 for a team. Check out our fundraising tips to maximize your fundraising efforts. Thank you for your support!

We appreciate your interest and support! Please reach out to Jackie Foord, our Executive Director, and we will be in touch to discuss how you can help. Thank you!
